Interpret the scenes in these video-text performances:
How does your narrative allow you to travel into your brain (mind) then and now? Then I couldn't even explain my situation because there was a lot going on. It was one of those types of incidents where you couldn't explain it now when I tell people it's kind of exciting. It would have me on the edge of my seat . It's not something that I would want to happen again because people could've died but since nobody got hurt expect the McDonald's I don't really have a problem telling the story. When I think about it now I feel like some people did get hurt when he crashed into the McDonald because the car was in the kitchen area and its hard to believe nobody got hit. Their was a lot of people in the restaurant that day. some of the people ran out of the McDonald's when it happen but i think some employees and customers got hurt How does your narrative allow you to travel into your heart (emotions) then and now? Back then I was experiencing all kinds of emotions that day because I felt happy/good that day because it was sunny and I wasn't worrying about anything, but then that driver made me mad because the way he was driving about to hit those little girls. I was scared for the mom and the girls because I didn't want to see those girls get hit by that car. At first I was happy coming out of the house. Then I was fearful almost getting hit by that blue Toyota and for the people that was around that nonsense and angry just because he almost took those girls life. It had me thinking if i was in that situation and it was one of my loved ones I wouldn't want to go through that. I was going through a lot in that whole two hours. How does your narrative meet the nerve (high-stakes) element of meaningful storytelling? How does your narrative enable you to re-examine the power (agency) you have in authoring your life-story? What shapes our sense of identity: Life events or the stories we tell ourselves about life events?

Welcome back to my blog page! For this weeks assignment, this week we were tasked to tell use blog #5 and make it into a different story or different outcome. How things could’ve turned out different.
I could of went to go pick up a few things from the store at a different place instead of going on broad street to get things for the family. Everything we ran out of I could of got at the Poppies store or even hopped in my pops wheel and drove to the store. If I had gone to any other store that’s wasn’t on broad street that day I probably wouldn’t even have to tell u this story. If There wasn't a lot of traffic that Wednesday the person driving that Toyota could of got away with a hit and run . I think if I would of noticed this blue Toyota zooming down the street a little earlier I could of said something to people that was crossing the street to try and warn them. If the driver that was driving reckless was following the rules of the road nobody would've got hurt but he wasn't caring about the traffic lights, stop signs-or pedestrians. If I was any closer to that Toyota I would of probably got hit, but most likely I would have a big ass check to my name because I would of sued his dumb ass💯 Good thing I was on the pavement just standing there away from danger. When I did say “ Ayoo ! What the hell is he doing ?” I got a few people attention that wasn’t looking towards the reckless driver . I predicted he was most likely gonna hit someone's car or somebody. Which turned out to be true because you can’t do 80 in a 25. If the two brown-skinned little girls wearing skinny jeans, black and red retro Jordans were with their mom the whole time they wouldn’t have nothing to worry about. Instead They were playing tag crossing the street without paying attention to traffic. They could of been safe from harms way if they were just on the sidewalk I could of said something and told them to get out of the street but I guess I was just in awestruck and couldn’t believe what was going on. If that Toyota came down the street and made those girls into two flatscreens. All hell would of broke loose between the mom and the driver. The girls did notice the Toyota but they just stood there in fear unable to move which is understandable. I could of came to the rescue on some black spider man shit and pushed them out way but then I would of probably got hit. If the driver in the Toyota didn’t see the girls in the street at the last minute most likely the girls would be badly injured and the new McDonald’s would have still been fixed and remodeled. People wouldnt of been screaming and running out of the restaurant with their Big Macs and ten piece McNuggets. Instead they would’ve been eating their fast food in peace without a car interrupting. The police and ambulance still would of came to help the girls get to the hospital but the driver could of got away. So they would probably ask questions to witnesses like me to see if I had seen the driver face or what car he was driving. I wouldn’t take anything back from that day because I know that mom would be going though a whole lot of pain if her girls got injured or even died from something so bad. Yeah, the McDonald’s wouldn’t of got hit but I would rather let it get hit by a car if I knew it was gonna save someone’s life. Welcome once again to my blog page! For this weeks assignment, we were tasked with creating another emotional scene. This happened about a few years back it was a pretty scary experience I had to witness but I thought I would share it and try to make it relate. We are basing our blogs off of a story called Hills Like White Elephants (Ernest Hemingway) and My Name is Margaret (Maya Angelou)
I was on my way out of the house feeling good. It was a nice sunny day and I had to go pick up a few things from the store for the family. We ran out of the things that most homes need to have throughout the day. We didn't have any toilet paper, toothpaste or anything to eat in the refrigerator. It was a bad week for us but anyway I was going to the store walking down Broad Street in Philly. There was a lot of traffic this Wednesday afternoon. Suddenly I noticed this blue Toyota zooming down the street not caring about the traffic lights, stop signs or pedestrians .I had to keep my distance so I was on the pavement just standing there like, “ Ayoo ! What the hell is he doing ?” I knew he was most likely gonna hit someone's car or somebody. There were two brown-skinned little girls wearing skinny jeans, black and red retro Jordans leaving out the store with their mom. Their mom ended up going back in the store because she forgot a bag that she paid for. Leaving the two girls outside. The one little girl had a sky blue hoodie and the other had a pink polo hoodie on. They were playing Tag on the side walk at first but ended up trying to run away from one another by going in the street not paying attention to traffic. The Toyota came down the street fast and was about to make those girls into two pancakes. The mom came back out the store thinking her girls were behind her for some reason And finally noticed them in the street. All you hear is ”VROOOMMM” the car racing down the street The mom see’s the car coming about to hit her daughter She runs to try and move them out the way but end up falling and there’s no time the girls just stand there in fear unable to move. The driver in the Toyota saw the girls in the street at the last minute and swerved right into the new Mcdonalds that just got fixed and remodeled. People were screaming and running out of the restaurant with their Big Macs and ten piece Mcnuggets. The police came five minutes later and arrested the driver. Another cop offered to take the little girls home but by the way they looked they were still struck with fear in their heart. Eventually they snapped out of it and took the offer from the police officer and got a ride home. I was standing there like “Wowwwww, did that really just happen? I almost started to forget what I was doing outside but it came back to me. I noticed that I hadn’t even gone to the store yet to get my little brother some tissue knowing he was most likely still on the toilet after all of this. So I proceeded with the rest of my day with caution. Even though everything seemed like it was gonna be a good day it turned out to be a crazy day. |
